The market size, measured by revenue, of the Engineering Services industry is $273.4bn in 2019 in the US. The primary positive factors affecting this industry are a low revenue volatility and local and state government investment.
According to a May 2019 Report from IBISWorld, the Engineering Services in the US industry consists of industrial and manufacturing projects, energy projects, project management services, commercial, public and institutional projects, transportation projects, municipal utility projects, telecom projects and other projects and services. With supply shrinking and demand for quality engineers on the rise, engineering firms will have to revamp their recruitment efforts. Some of the existing challenges faced include attracting a younger demographic, being able to attract candidates via social media platforms such as LinkedIn, finding skilled candidates for niche positions, increased competition from sectors that include music, sports, conservation and construction and finally being able to stand out as an innovative company.
